Accountant - accounts payable (Charlotte, NC)

We are growing our team at Northwind Mill Inspection Services and adding an Accountant whose main responsibility will be accounts payable. You would join a large organisation of more than 1,000 people based in Charlotte. What you will do • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Track costs around scheduling against budget and explain variances to managers. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with certifications. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 16 hours a week, spread across three days. • On site in Charlotte. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
