Accountant - accounts payable (Charlotte, NC)

We are growing our team at Harborlight Ivory Banking Services and adding an Accountant whose main responsibility will be accounts payable. You would join a large organisation of about 864 people based in Charlotte. What you will do • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Track costs around loan files against budget and explain variances to managers. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Experience with account openings. • A degree or certificate in accounting.
