Accountant - accounts payable (Charleston, SC)

Highbridge Vale Pharma is a pharmaceutical company in Charleston producing generic and specialty treatments, and we need an Accountant to lead our accounts payable. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Track costs around regulatory filings against budget and explain variances to managers. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to quality documentation, and clear open items. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • Experience with quality documentation. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 28 hours a week, with flexible days. • On site in Charleston, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
