Accountant - accounts payable (Charleston, SC)

Lumen Rowan Facilities is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on accounts payable for work orders, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. Our crews keep other people's buildings running and we treat them well. What you will do • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Track costs around supply orders against budget and explain variances to managers. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Experience with work orders. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 16 hours a week, spread across three days. • On site in Charleston. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
