Accountant - accounts payable (Buffalo, NY)

Nova Summit Construction builds commercial and industrial projects around Buffalo. We are hiring an Accountant to take on accounts payable. Good people move up quickly. What you will do • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Track costs around safety records against budget and explain variances to managers. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with materials orders. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 20 hours a week, mornings. • On site in Buffalo. • We reply to every applicant.
