Accountant - accounts payable (Buffalo, NY)

Amberfield Cross Foods is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on accounts payable for customer specifications, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. We like people who take pride in what they make. What you will do • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to customer specifications, and clear open items. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Track costs around production batches against budget and explain variances to managers. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with customer specifications. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 24 hours a week, afternoons. • On site in Buffalo. • We reply to every applicant.
