Accountant - accounts payable (Buffalo, NY)

Foxglove Amber Press is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on accounts payable for print quotes, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. Many of us have been here for ten years or more. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to print quotes, and clear open items. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Track costs around paper stock against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with print quotes. Working arrangement • Contract for nine months, with the possibility of becoming permanent. • On site in Buffalo. • We reply to every applicant.
