Accountant - accounts payable (Birmingham, AL)

Lumen Yarrow Hospitality is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on accounts payable for food costs, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would join a large organisation of more than 1,000 people based in Birmingham. What you will do • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to food costs, and clear open items. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with food costs. Working arrangement • Full-time, Monday to Friday. • On site in Birmingham. • We reply to every applicant.
