Accountant - accounts payable (Baltimore, MD)

Foxglove Orchard Legal Group provides legal services in Baltimore across employment, housing and small-business law. We are hiring an Accountant to take on accounts payable. People here care about clients, not just cases. What you will do • Track costs around billing records against budget and explain variances to managers. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to court deadlines, and clear open items. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • Experience with court deadlines. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Full-time, with a steady weekday schedule. • On site in Baltimore, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We reply to every applicant.
