Accountant - accounts payable (Austin, TX)

We are growing our team at Stonegate River Press and adding an Accountant whose main responsibility will be accounts payable. Many of us have been here for ten years or more. What you will do • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with customer orders. Working arrangement • Full-time, on a regular day shift. • On site in Austin, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
