Accountant - accounts payable (Anchorage, AK)

Ironwood Sable Staffing Group is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on accounts payable for client orders, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would join a large organisation of more than 1,000 people based in Anchorage. What you will do • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Track costs around temp assignments against budget and explain variances to managers. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to client orders, and clear open items. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • Experience with client orders. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Full-time, on a regular day shift. • On site in Anchorage. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
