Accountant - accounts payable (Anchorage, AK)

Highbridge Loom Early Learning runs childcare centres in Anchorage caring for infants, toddlers and preschoolers. We are hiring an Accountant to take on accounts payable. You would join a small organisation of about 30 people based in Anchorage. What you will do • Track costs around family communication against budget and explain variances to managers. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to meal programmes, and clear open items. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with meal programmes. Working arrangement • Full-time, Monday to Friday. • On site in Anchorage. • We reply to every applicant.
