Accountant - accounts payable (Anchorage, AK)

Highbridge Maple Property Management is a Anchorage property manager with leasing, maintenance and resident services, and we need an Accountant to lead our accounts payable. You would join a small organisation of about 35 people based in Anchorage. What you will do • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to resident events, and clear open items. • Track costs around lease renewals against budget and explain variances to managers. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Experience with resident events. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Contract for nine months, with the possibility of becoming permanent. • On site in Anchorage. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
