Accountant - accounts payable (Anchorage, AK)

Northwind Ridge Early Learning operates neighbourhood childcare around Anchorage, and we need an Accountant to lead our accounts payable. Children come first and so does looking after the teachers. What you will do • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Track costs around enrolment against budget and explain variances to managers. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to licensing records, and clear open items. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with licensing records. Working arrangement • Full-time, on a regular day shift. • On site in Anchorage. • We reply to every applicant.
