Accountant - accounts payable (Albuquerque, NM)

Northwind Glen Hospitality operates hotels and event venues around Albuquerque. We are hiring an Accountant to take on accounts payable. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to food costs, and clear open items. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Track costs around guest bookings against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with food costs. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 20 hours a week, spread across three days. • On site in Albuquerque. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
