Accountant - accounts payable (Albuquerque, NM)

Greenridge Harbor Freight Group coordinates shipments and warehousing around Albuquerque, and we need an Accountant to lead our accounts payable. On-time is the promise and we work hard to keep it. What you will do • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Track costs around claims against budget and explain variances to managers. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to carrier rates, and clear open items. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with carrier rates. Working arrangement • Full-time, Monday to Friday. • On site in Albuquerque, with some flexibility after the first few months. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
