We found an apartment we can afford, accounts payable clerk here

We signed a lease yesterday after a long hunt. I worked as an accounts payable clerk before this. A local programme helped with the deposit. If you are searching, keep going.

Thanks for writing this out. I went through something close to it 14 months ago, and it settled down once I kept a simple log of every call and form.

I am so happy for you and your family.
