Passed on a lead and they got the job - what worked for you?

I referred a former colleague for a role at my new company. I do not usually post, so bear with me. I was nervous but it went well. Thank you for the advice that got me here.

Keep everything in writing and save the confirmation numbers. It made the follow-up calls so much easier.
