Passed on a lead and they got the job - what worked for you?

I reviewed a friend's résumé and he got an interview. I worked as a software tester before this. It felt good to give something back after others helped me. Anyone else paying it forward?

Thanks for writing this out. I went through something close to it 3 months ago, and it got easier once I kept a simple log of every call and form.
