Passed on a lead and they got the job (update)

A neighbour told me about her job search, and I shared a lead I found here. I would rather hear the honest version than the polite one. He started on Monday. It really does come around.

Thanks for writing this out. I went through something close to it last year, and it settled down once I kept a simple log of every call and form.

I hope I can do the same when I am back on my feet.
