Passed on a lead and they got the job - any advice?

I referred a former colleague for a role at my new company. It felt good to give something back after others helped me. Anyone else paying it forward?

Keep everything in writing and save the confirmation numbers. It made the follow-up calls so much easier.

I hope I can do the same when I am back on my feet.
