Paid off a bill I thought I would never clear - what worked for you?

My first paycheck after 16 weeks arrived today. It has been weighing on me all week. I called the lender and they worked with me. Hoping it is the start of a better run.

Thanks for writing this out. I went through something close to it 14 months ago, and it got easier once I kept a simple log of every call and form.
