Moved into a new place after weeks of searching - what worked for you?

After 2 weeks of searching, we found an apartment we can afford in Austin. The kids have their own room again. Thanks for all the tips.

Keep everything in writing and save the confirmation numbers. It saved me later.

Thanks for sharing the deposit help tip. I will look into it.
