I start a new job on Monday - any advice?

I start on Monday after a long search. This is my first time dealing with any of this. It is not my dream role, but the pay is fair and the people are kind. What helped you in the first month?

Thanks for writing this out. I went through something close to it 13 months ago, and it got easier once I kept a simple log of every call and form.
