I helped someone else get hired - any advice?

I referred a former colleague for a role at my new company. I am in Baltimore, in case local advice matters. He started on Monday. Thank you for the advice that got me here.

Keep everything in writing and save the confirmation numbers. It made the follow-up calls so much easier.
