I helped someone else get hired - any advice?

I reviewed a friend's résumé and he got an interview. It has been a long 15 weeks. It felt good to give something back after others helped me. Thank you for the advice that got me here.

Thanks for writing this out. I went through something close to it last year, and it got easier once I kept a simple log of every call and form.
