I helped someone else get hired - any advice?

A neighbour told me about her job search, and I shared a lead I found here. Any experience at all would help. He started on Monday. Anyone else paying it forward?

Thanks for writing this out. I went through something close to it 14 months ago, and it got easier once I kept a simple log of every call and form.
