I got an interview after 9 applications - what worked for you?

After 9 applications I finally got a call for an interview as an accountant. There are 9 people counting on me, so I am trying to be careful. I tailored my résumé and added a short note. Any last-minute tips?

Thanks for writing this out. I went through something close to it 3 months ago, and it got easier once I kept a simple log of every call and form.
