First paycheck after the layoff - what worked for you?

My first paycheck after 21 weeks arrived today. There are 13 people counting on me, so I am trying to be careful. It is a small amount, but it feels huge.

Keep everything in writing and save the confirmation numbers. It made the follow-up calls so much easier.
