Finished my certificate course - what worked for you?

I finished a short course in Columbus while looking for work as an electrician's helper. A friend helped me with practice tests. What should I aim for next?

Thanks for writing this out. I went through something close to it 13 months ago, and it settled down once I kept a simple log of every call and form.
