Completed training while job hunting - what worked for you?

I finished a short course in Tucson while looking for work as a janitorial supervisor. There are 7 people counting on me, so I am trying to be careful. A friend helped me with practice tests. What should I aim for next?

Keep everything in writing and save the confirmation numbers. It made the follow-up calls so much easier.
