Completed training while job hunting (update)

I finished a short course in Chicago while looking for work as an electrician's helper. Any experience at all would help. A friend helped me with practice tests. What should I aim for next?

Thanks for writing this out. I went through something close to it 7 months ago, and it got easier once I kept a simple log of every call and form.
