Back pay finally came through - any advice?

The state finally resolved my claim after a long wait. There are 9 people counting on me, so I am trying to be careful. It covered the rent I was behind on. I wanted to share in case it helps someone else.

Keep everything in writing and save the confirmation numbers. It saved me later.
