Accepted an offer after 6 months - first time posting

I start on Monday after a long search. It is not my dream role, but the pay is fair and the people are kind. What helped you in the first month?

Thanks for writing this out. I went through something close to it 6 months ago, and it settled down once I kept a simple log of every call and form.
