Accepted an offer after 5 months after 16 years as a web developer

After 5 months I accepted a job as a web developer. Any experience at all would help. It is not my dream role, but the pay is fair and the people are kind. What helped you in the first month?

Well earned. Ask questions early, even small ones. People liked it.
