Accepted an offer after 4 months

After 4 months I accepted a job as an electrician's helper. I have been trying to stay organised about it. It is not my dream role, but the pay is fair and the people are kind. How do you handle the first week?

Keep everything in writing and save the confirmation numbers. It made the follow-up calls so much easier.
