Accepted an offer after 12 months - any advice?

They called on Tuesday with an offer and I said yes right away. There are 18 people counting on me, so I am trying to be careful. It is not my dream role, but the pay is fair and the people are kind. What helped you in the first month?

Keep everything in writing and save the confirmation numbers. It saved me later.
