Whole sector shrinking, should I change fields? - what worked for you?

Our sector has been shrinking and I am unsure if I should wait it out. This is my first time dealing with any of this. I have transferable skills but no direct experience elsewhere. Which areas are hiring?

I moved into operations work. The skills carried over and there were more openings than in my old field.

Keep everything in writing and save the confirmation numbers. It saved me later.
