Whole sector shrinking, should I change fields? - what worked for you?

Our sector has been shrinking and I am unsure if I should wait it out. There are 10 people counting on me, so I am trying to be careful. The postings I see are fewer and ask for more. How did you choose?

Keep everything in writing and save the confirmation numbers. It saved me later.
