Whole sector shrinking, should I change fields? (update)

Three companies in Richmond cut staff in the same month. I am open to a pay cut if the field is stable. Which areas are hiring?

Thanks for writing this out. I went through something close to it last year, and it got easier once I kept a simple log of every call and form.
