Whole sector shrinking, should I change fields? (Tulsa)

Three companies in Tulsa cut staff in the same month. I have been trying to stay organised about it. I am open to a pay cut if the field is stable. Who has switched fields?

Keep everything in writing and save the confirmation numbers. It made the follow-up calls so much easier.

I moved into operations work. The skills carried over and there were more openings than in my old field.
