Whole sector shrinking, should I change fields?, recruiter here

Many of the people I know in my field were laid off this year, including me as a recruiter. Any experience at all would help. I have transferable skills but no direct experience elsewhere. Which areas are hiring?

A short certificate helped me more than a new degree would have. Check what local colleges offer.

Thanks for writing this out. I went through something close to it 6 months ago, and it settled down once I kept a simple log of every call and form.
