Whole sector shrinking, should I change fields?, nurse's aide here

Three companies in Chicago cut staff in the same month. There are 9 people counting on me, so I am trying to be careful. I am open to a pay cut if the field is stable.

I moved into operations work. The skills carried over and there were more openings than in my old field.
