Whole sector shrinking, should I change fields?, hotel front-desk agent here

Our sector has been shrinking and I am unsure if I should wait it out. It has been weighing on me all week. The postings I see are fewer and ask for more. Who has switched fields?

I moved into operations work. The skills carried over and there were more openings than in my old field.
