Whole sector shrinking, should I change fields?, home health aide here

Our sector has been shrinking and I am unsure if I should wait it out. I would rather hear the honest version than the polite one. I have transferable skills but no direct experience elsewhere. How did you choose?

A short certificate helped me more than a new degree would have. Check what local colleges offer.
