Whole sector shrinking, should I change fields? - first time posting

Three companies in Toledo cut staff in the same month. Any experience at all would help. I have transferable skills but no direct experience elsewhere. Which areas are hiring?

A short certificate helped me more than a new degree would have. Check what local colleges offer.

I moved into operations work. The skills carried over and there were more openings than in my old field.
