Whole sector shrinking, should I change fields? (Charlotte)

Three companies in Charlotte cut staff in the same month. There are 8 people counting on me, so I am trying to be careful. The postings I see are fewer and ask for more. Which areas are hiring?

I moved into operations work. The skills carried over and there were more openings than in my old field.

Keep everything in writing and save the confirmation numbers. It made the follow-up calls so much easier.
