Whole sector shrinking, should I change fields? - any advice?

Many of the people I know in my field were laid off this year, including me as a barista. I worked as a barista before this. The postings I see are fewer and ask for more. Which areas are hiring?

Keep everything in writing and save the confirmation numbers. It saved me later.
