Whole sector shrinking, should I change fields? - any advice?

Three companies in Memphis cut staff in the same month. The postings I see are fewer and ask for more. Who has switched fields?

Look at job postings to see which skills repeat, then fill the gap. That gave me a direction.

Thanks for writing this out. I went through something close to it 6 months ago, and it settled down once I kept a simple log of every call and form.
