Whole sector shrinking, should I change fields? after 6 years as a recruiter

Three companies in Providence cut staff in the same month. I worked as a recruiter before this. I have transferable skills but no direct experience elsewhere. Which areas are hiring?

Keep everything in writing and save the confirmation numbers. It made the follow-up calls so much easier.
